Prestigious Think Tank internship

Communications Intern

The Center for Global Development is an independent, not-for-profit think tank that works to reduce global poverty and inequality by encouraging policy change in the U.S. and other rich countries through rigorous research and active engagement with the policy community. The Communications team ensures CGD's influential work reaches the people with the power to shape decisions in Washington and other rich country capitals. The ideal candidate for this internship is a part-time student or recent graduate.

The intern will provide support in the following areas:

• Assisting the events coordinator with posting relevant events and publications to CGD website
• Providing copyediting, proofing and administrative support to the publications coordinator
• Support with event logistics at in-house and offsite locations
• Assisting research staff with presentation design (PPT)
• Special projects and general support to CGD communications and policy team

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Interest in international development and communications
• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program or higher
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility, and ability to work in a face-paced team environment
• Poise, confidence, and outstanding organization and time management skills, with an attention to detail
• Proficiency in written English usage, grammar and punctuation
• Proven success in converting complex ideas into effective presentations (including PowerPoint)
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Excel), Adobe Photoshop and InDesign

This is a paid internship offering a competitive hourly wage. The intern will work approximately 20 hours per week for a period not to exceed six months.
